Ìlànà Ọmọ Oòduà Canada Chapter was setup to coordinate the effort of so many group work on the Oduduwa people self actualisation and self rule.
ABout Ìlànà Ọmọ Oòduà
ILANA OMO OODUA Canada Chapter (IOO Canada Chapter) is a chapter of llànà Ọmọ Oòduà worldwide . IOO Canada’s primary goals are to support self-determination for the Yoruba nation by peaceful and law-abiding means and measures; we strive and advocate for the protection and defense, for the time being in Nigeria, of the Yoruba homeland.
Our secondary goals are to promote, defend and achieve the collective growth and developmental aspirations and interests, prosperity, security, wellbeing, welfare and sustenance of Yoruba People and culture. To this end, IOO Canada is actively engaged in promoting culture, principles and working with other cultural associations across the world (Diaspora and others). We plan to have seminars, cultural and intellectual exchanges, and events with associations around the globe.
Let us go forward in this battle fortified by conviction that those who labour in the service of a great and good cause will never fail.
To be the strongest cohesion of a community of Yoruba people in Canada
The attainment of the goal that enables peaceful and prosperous advancement of
the living standards of every Yoruba son and daughter in Canada , North America and the rest of the world
- To facilitate the development of Yoruba community in Canada and other parts of the world
- To improve the process of identifying the Yoruba people in Canada.
- To raise awareness of Yoruba art and cultural heritage in Canada and North America
- To promote public support for human rights of the Yoruba people worldwide.
- To improve the interpersonal relations and joint community activities amongst the Yoruba people both in Canada and the rest of the world.
- To raise the level of the well being and education of the Yoruba people in Canada
- To promote and facilitate the defense of Yoruba people and members of Ìlànà Ọmọ Oòduà in Canada and the World
- To promote sectoral relationship amongst the sons and daughters of Yoruba people worldwide.
- To raise the level of reading, writing and speaking skills of Yoruba language by Yoruba people and everyone interested in Yoruba language.
- To increase assistance, support and education on prevention and relief of
poverty among the Yoruba people and members of the organisation. - To generally advance the cause and interest of Yoruba people in Canada and the rest of the world
